Peacock Performing Arts Center Announces Vibrant May 2026 Lineup

HAYESVILLE, N.C. — The Peacock Performing Arts Center is set to enrich the Western North Carolina and North Georgia region this May with a diverse slate of performances spanning comedy, jazz, songwriting, and classic country tributes.

The month kicks off with the hilarious farce “It Runs in the Family” by renowned British playwright Ray Cooney. Directed by David Layfield, the production will run over two weekends: May 8–10 and May 15–17. Audiences can catch the show on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. The play promises non-stop laughs as it follows the chaotic misadventures of a prominent family trying to keep scandalous secrets under wraps.

On Friday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m., the center will welcome Chi-Town Transit Authority, a high-energy tribute to the legendary Chicago band. The group is known for faithfully recreating the iconic horn-driven rock and jazz fusion that made Chicago a staple of American music.

The following evening, Saturday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m., brings Songwriters Showcase 60, featuring an impressive lineup of regional and national talent: The Black Feathers, Gabe Lee, Gloria Anderson, and Rob Tiger. The intimate evening will highlight original songs and storytelling from some of today’s most compelling voices in Americana and roots music.

Closing out the month on Saturday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. is Johnny Folsom 4, a premier tribute to the Man in Black himself — Johnny Cash. The quartet, complete with guitar, upright bass, and rich harmonies, will deliver Cash’s timeless hits and deep cuts in a high-energy celebration of his legendary catalog.

All performances take place at the Peacock Performing Arts Center, located at 301 Church Street in Hayesville, NC. The center’s mission — to engage, inspire, and entertain — continues to shine through this carefully curated May schedule that blends professional touring acts with local theatrical productions.

Tickets and more information are available through the Peacock Performing Arts Center’s website (thepeacocknc.org) or box office. With something for nearly every taste, May 2026 looks to be a standout month for live performing arts in the region.
