A full slate of officers filled the training room today as the Sheriff’s Office began its 2026 mandatory in-service training, a two-day session focused on maintaining professional standards and preparedness.
According to the agency, today’s group represents just the first wave of personnel scheduled to complete the required training. Additional groups of officers will rotate through in-service sessions over the coming weeks to ensure all staff meet annual certification requirements.
Officials noted that this year’s training is being conducted entirely with in-house instructors — a milestone the administration says sets it apart from past years. Using internal personnel allows the office to tailor instruction more closely to local policies, procedures and community needs.
The training sessions are also benefiting from new equipment recently added to the facility, including a large television purchased by the Sheriff’s Auxiliary. The screen is being used for presentations, instructional videos and other training-related assemblies.
The Auxiliary was credited with ongoing support for the Sheriff’s Office, with officials describing the donation as one of many contributions made to enhance operations, training and outreach efforts.
