BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — Union County Fire and Rescue (UCFD) in Blairsville, Georgia, recently completed its annual testing of fire apparatus pumps and ground ladders, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with safety standards, the department announced.
The testing, conducted yearly, verifies that each fire apparatus pump functions at its rated capacity and remains in good working order. Additionally, every ground ladder undergoes rigorous inspection to ensure safety and reliability during operations and rescue missions.
“This annual testing is critical to maintaining our equipment’s performance and ensuring the safety of our firefighters and the community we serve,” UCFD stated in a social media post.
The process is a key requirement for maintaining the department’s Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating of 4/4Y, which reflects its ability to effectively respond to emergencies and impacts insurance rates for local residents.
UCFD’s commitment to regular testing underscores its dedication to preparedness and public safety in Union County.
