Union County Firefighters Complete Intensive Interior Search and Rescue Training

UNION COUNTY, GA — Firefighters Trey Wall and Conner Cook of the Union County Fire Department have successfully completed a 16-hour Interior Search and Rescue (ISAR) course, a rigorous training program designed to enhance skills in locating and rescuing victims from burning or smoke-filled structures.

The course provided hands-on experience in search techniques, victim removal methods, fireground survival, team coordination, and operating in zero-visibility conditions. Participants were challenged both physically and mentally, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and communication during high-risk operations.

“Interior search and rescue is one of the most critical tasks we perform on the fireground,” said Fire Chief David Dyer. “Firefighters Wall and Cook demonstrated dedication and determination by completing this demanding training. Their commitment helps ensure we are prepared to act quickly and safely when lives are at stake.”

The Union County Fire Department continues to prioritize advanced training opportunities, strengthening operational readiness and ensuring the highest level of service to the community.
