MURPHY, N.C. — The Murphy High School varsity soccer team secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Summit Charter in a home conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The Bulldogs (5-2-1 overall, 4-0 conference) dominated early, scoring two goals in the first half and adding one more in the second to maintain their perfect conference record. Summit Charter (2-2 overall, 2-2 conference) struggled to find the net, unable to penetrate Murphy’s stout defense, which has allowed only six goals this season.
Murphy, ranked 17th in its class in North Carolina, showcased its offensive prowess, having scored 37 goals in eight matches this season. Summit Charter, despite a balanced 5-6 goal differential, could not keep pace with the Bulldogs’ relentless attack.
The win strengthens Murphy’s position in the conference standings, while Summit Charter looks to rebound in upcoming matches. The Bulldogs will face Blue Ridge Early College on the road on Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
