Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division Secures Warrants for Cherokee County Repeat Drug Trafficker

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, and Clay County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence of Colby Brett Phillips on March 4, 2026. As a result of the search warrant, 250 grams of Methamphetamine was seized. Previously in the day, an agent attempted to stop Phillips. Phillips stopped his vehicle. As the Agent approached Phillips vehicle from the front, Phillips drove the vehicle towards the Agent, creating a potential dangerous situation. The Agent located the vehicle abandoned in a private residential neighborhood. Residents advised it had come through at a high speed. As a result of this investigation, Agents have recovered approximately 278 grams of Methamphetamine.
Colby Brett Phillips of Martins Creek has been charged with the following
-3 separate counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine
-Felony Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine
- Felony Conspiracy to Traffick Methamphetamine
-Felony Flee to Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle
-Reckless Driving to Endanger and numerous other misdemeanor charges.
This investigation is the third case in a short period of time. Phillips is currently out on bonds (two previous instances) for trafficking in Methamphetamine in and around Cherokee County. Phillips at this time is Wanted and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the publics assistance in locating Phillips. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will not waiver in their commitment to remove illegal and dangerous substances from our community.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
