Reid Narrowly Wins Andrews Mayoral Race; Ledford, Woodard Take Alderman Seats

ANDREWS, N.C. – Voters in the Town of Andrews made their choices Tuesday night, electing mayor and two members to the Board of Aldermen in a pair of tightly contested races.


James D. Reid kept the mayor’s seat with 51.75% of the vote, narrowly defeating Brandi Smith, who received 47.66%. Two write-in votes accounted for 0.58% of the total.


In the Board of Aldermen race, where voters could choose two candidates, Chasity Ledford led the field with 29.88% of the vote, followed by Heath Woodard with 27.24%. Both earned seats on the board. Rex Cable finished third with 23.37%, while Gary R. James received 17.65%. Write-in candidates collected 1.86%.
