HIAWASSEE, Ga. — Sheriffs from Towns, Union, and Clay counties convened for a strategic luncheon to discuss criminal and drug activity impacting their communities, the Towns County Sheriff’s Office announced in a recent social media post.

Towns County Sheriff Ken Henderson, joined by his command staff, met with Union County Sheriff Shawn Dyer and Clay County Sheriff Mark Buchanan, along with their respective command teams, to share information and explore collaborative solutions to common challenges. The meeting focused on addressing the ongoing drug problems and criminal activities affecting the tri-county region.

Sheriff Henderson expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and being able to work with surrounding agencies. The collaborative effort underscores a unified approach to enhancing public safety across county lines.

The sheriffs’ offices emphasized their collective commitment to keeping their communities safe through ongoing cooperation and information sharing. This meeting builds on previous efforts, such as a November 2024 discussion between Towns and Clay County sheriffs, which also addressed drug-related issues and cross-border crime.
