Towns County Public Library Unveils Packed June Schedule of Family Fun and Community Programs in Hiawassee


Hiawassee, GA — The Towns County Public Library is kicking off summer with an exciting lineup of events for all ages throughout June. From weekly storytimes and active play sessions to unique educational experiences and adult wellness programs, the library invites residents and visitors to make the most of the season with engaging, free community activities.


Regular weekly programs will run throughout the month (barring any conflicts with special SRP events):

  • Storytime continues every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., offering young children a chance to enjoy stories, songs, and interactive fun.

  • Stay & Play meets every Thursday at 10:30 a.m., giving families a relaxed space for play and connection.

  • Chi Gong sessions for adults take place every Friday at 10 a.m., providing a gentle exercise and wellness opportunity.

  • The Non-Fiction Book Club returns on the last Tuesday of the month (June 30) at 5 p.m. for adult readers.


In addition to these ongoing favorites, the library has planned several special events to spark curiosity and excitement:

  • Wednesday, June 4 – Planetarium at THC Campus, 11 a.m.

  • Thursday, June 12 – Bright Star Theatre at TC Rec, 11 a.m.

  • Wednesday, June 18 – Wildlife Wonders at Mayor’s Park, 11 a.m.

  • Wednesday, June 24 – Snakes Alive! at Boat Ramp, 11 a.m.


The library, located in Hiawassee, is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. These programs are designed to bring the community together while supporting learning, creativity, and healthy lifestyles during the summer months.
