HIAWASSEE, GA — On Tuesday, August 26, Towns County Schools hosted its annual Teacher of the Year banquet, a heartfelt evening dedicated to recognizing the exceptional educators who shape the future of the community’s students. The event, filled with gratitude and pride, highlighted the profound impact of teachers across the district.

The school system proudly announced Mr. Luke Kough, a high school math teacher, as the 2025–2026 Towns County Schools System Teacher of the Year. Known for his dedication and innovative approach to teaching, Mr. Kough was celebrated for his outstanding contributions to education.

Joining Mr. Kough in the spotlight were Mrs. Stephanie Youngblood and Mrs. Candice Thompson, also named Teachers of the Year for their remarkable work in the classroom. “You represent the very best of education at TC!” the district shared in a social media post.

The celebration was made possible through the generous support of Peach State Federal Credit Union, Brother’s at Willow Ranch, the PTSO, and the Towns County Board of Education. Their contributions ensured a memorable evening honoring the educators who inspire and uplift students daily.

Congratulations to Mr. Kough, Mrs. Youngblood, and Mrs. Thompson for their well-deserved recognition as Towns County’s finest educators!
