HIAWASSEE, Ga. — MountainTrue will host its 15th Annual Lake Chatuge Shoreline Cleanup on Saturday, Nov. 1, inviting volunteers to help preserve the beauty of the lake. The event begins at 9 a.m. at the Towns County Swim Beach Pavilion, across from the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds.
Participants will receive assigned cleanup locations, along with bags, gloves, and safety information. Coffee and grab-and-go breakfast snacks will be provided, and the first 30 volunteers will receive free T-shirts.
After two hours of cleaning the shoreline, volunteers will reconvene at the pavilion at 11:30 a.m. for a prize ceremony. Awards will be given in three categories: Most Trash Collected by a Group, Most Creative Trash Photo, and Most Unique Trash Item Found. To enter the photo contests, volunteers can submit their entries to savannah@mountaintrue.org.
The cleanup underscores MountainTrue’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement. For more information, contact MountainTrue at savannah@mountaintrue.org.
