Coalition Meets to Strengthen Western North Carolina

Sheriff Chris Wood attended the Western Sheriffs’ Meeting yesterday in Waynesville, North Carolina, alongside sheriffs and public safety leaders from across the region.


The meeting brought together a wide range of elected officials, state and federal law enforcement representatives, public safety vendors, and civic organizations with a shared goal of strengthening partnerships through networking, problem solving, and relationship building.


Special guests included District Attorney Ashley Welch, along with Eddie Caldwell and Lauren Earnhardt of the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association.


“These meetings are extremely important for building relationships and sharing ideas that help us better serve and protect our communities,” said Sheriff Chris Wood. “Working together with our law enforcement partners and community stakeholders strengthens public safety across Western North Carolina.”


Sheriff Wood appreciates the opportunity to collaborate with fellow leaders and remains committed to advancing public safety initiatives for the citizens of Cherokee County.
