Towns County Deputy Andrew Brinson has officially completed his Georgia P.O.S.T. Mandate Academy requirements, marking a major milestone in his law enforcement career, according to an announcement from the Towns County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 28.
Brinson began his service with the department at the Towns County Detention Center, where he worked as a jailer. Officials said his strong work ethic and determination were evident from the beginning, making him a natural candidate for advancement.
His training included 809 hours of state-required coursework over a 20-week period. After completing the program, he was sworn in as a certified peace officer by Interim Sheriff Anthony Coleman during a ceremony attended by his family.
With his certification complete, Brinson now joins the ranks of the county’s patrol deputies, continuing his service to the community in a new role.
